BiP Solutions sets out CSR Focus for 2010-11

26 May 2010

Following a hugely successful year of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities throughout 2009-10, BiP Solutions Ltd – the leading provider of cutting-edge solutions and services that help optimise supply chain value – has announced its CSR plans for the 2010-11 financial year.

CSR lies at the heart of BiP’s approach to its business, customers and stakeholders, and the company’s CSR ethos sees its Values of Passion, Integrity and Respect integrated into all of its operations.

In keeping with its Values, BiP has initiated a ‘home and away’ community activity programme, which sees the company and its staff support a range of local and overseas charities each year.

BiP staff have chosen to support the Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Association (GOPWA) as their ‘home’ charity for 2010-11. GOPWA is an important charity within Glasgow, acting as a lifeline for the city’s many lonely and frail elderly people. Since the end of the Second World War, GOPWA has given direct help to tens of thousands of Glasgow’s older people (above the age of 60), providing services including day care centres and sheltered accommodation. BiP is delighted to be supporting this vital cause.

In addition, BiP will continue to support the Glasgow Science Centre throughout 2010-11 as part of a two-year commitment to donate approximately £21,000 to the Centre between 2009 and 2011.

For the ‘away’ charity choice, BiP has chosen Action Aid – a charity focused on fighting poverty throughout the poorest areas of the world. Through Action Aid, BiP has committed funding for the drilling costs of a village well in Tshifudi, South Africa.

BiP has also announced its support of a further ‘away’ charity in Nepal, as well as plans to support a cause in the Balkans in the coming year.

BiP staff are confident that their upcoming CSR commitments will prove as successful as last year’s activity, which saw the company raise £25,000 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, along with approximately £800 for IT equipment for Cardross Parish Church and approximately £3200 for the Peru Children's Charity.

BiP CEO Ron Burges said: “As a business, we believe it is critically important to give back to the community. CSR is an integral part of our company Values philosophy of Passion, Integrity and Respect and we look forward to helping all of these charities and organisations in the vital work they do both in the UK and abroad.”
