BiP Solutions reports on a year of CSR successes

12 April 2010

BiP Solutions Ltd (BiP) – the leading provider of cutting-edge solutions and services that help optimise supply chain value – has reported on a year of significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) achievements, having supported a wide variety of charities and projects both at home and abroad throughout 2009-10.

CSR lies at the heart of BiP’s approach to its business, customers and stakeholders. The company’s CSR approach sees its values of Passion, Integrity and Respect integrated into all of its operations.

In parallel with its values,  the company has initiated a ‘home and away’ community activity programme, in which all staff are encouraged to engage, with the company supporting one local and one overseas charity each year.

BiP’s 2009-10 financial year coincided with the celebration of its 25th anniversary. In recognition of this, management and staff set the target of raising £25,000 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice (PPWH) in Glasgow. The company is delighted to announce that it has succeeded in this mission, with a cheque for that amount presented to the PPWH at its annual Sportsman’s dinner, held at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on 25 March 2010.

In addition, a charitable joint venture between BiP and the Scottish Government also donated a further £5,000 to the PPWH. The donation represents a percentage of the revenue generated from Procurex Scotland 2009, which was organised by BiP.

As a further part of BiP’s home charity activity, it also agreed to donate approximately £21,000 to the Glasgow Science Centre over a two-year period, while also donating approximately £800 for a computer and projector for Cardross Parish Church.

In 2009-10, BiP was also active in supporting an 'away' charity – the Peru Children's Charity – which received approximately £3,200 from the company’s fundraising activities.

Through this charity BiP is funding the cost of materials for a small family home and a community dining room for the benefit of very poor families in Las Lomas – a shanty town area outside the Peruvian capital, Lima.

BiP Solutions CEO Ron Burges said: “As a business we believe it is vitally important to give back to the community both at home and abroad and we are delighted to have been able to help all of these charities and organisations in the vital work which they do.”
