The GO Awards Scotland are delighted to announce that multiple award-winning comedian Rory Bremner will be the After Dinner Speaker at the esteemed GO Awards ceremony, to be held on the evening of Wednesday 28 October 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
Rory boasts a host of career accolades,, including starring in the hugely successful TV shows Whose Line Is It Anyway, Mock the Week and most recently Bremner, Bird and Fortune. The veteran comedian is also a highly respected TV host and newspaper columnist but he is undoubtedly best known for his highly comical impressionist skills. He has also appeared in various special topical TV programmes such as My Government and has won numerous prestigious awards, including a BAFTA and a British Comedy Award for Top Male Performer.
Now in their second year, the GO Awards Scotland are the highlight of the Scottish public procurement calendar. The Awards recognise and reward innovation, excellence and achievement in the sector and are the perfect excuse for the public, private and third sectors to get together to celebrate their vital successes.
The deadline for entries is 7 September 2009 so there is now less than a month to submit an entry for consideration for these prestigious awards. With leading figures in the industry on the judging panel, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your company. Winners and highly commended entrants can also look forward to being featured in the press coverage surrounding the Awards and gaining the recognition within the industry that comes with achieving finalist status for one of these awards.
Grahame Steed, Managing Editor of GO magazine, said: “The calibre of individuals that we have recruited to the judging panel for this year’s GO Awards Scotland speaks volumes about the esteem in which this event is held. We are very grateful to each of them for providing us with their time and expertise, and hope that their involvement encourages all organisations that have bought for or supplied to the Scottish public sector to submit an entry.”
The Awards – organised by public procurement experts BiP Solutions, publishers of GO magazine – will be held on the first evening of the Procurex Scotland 2009 conference, which will take place at the SECC in Glasgow on 28 and 29 October.
Procurex Scotland 2009 is Scotland’s only procurement conference and is the essential procurement event of the year, supported by both the Scottish Government and Scotland’s leading Business Associations. The 2009 event is set to be the biggest yet and will offer both attendees and exhibitors an unrivalled opportunity to meet and network with representatives from Scotland’s public and private sector buying community. With public sector spending on goods and services across Scotland now estimated at around £8 billion per annum, this is the key industry event and is not to be missed.
