GO Managing Editor Grahame Steed said “We believe that the national GO Awards for 2009 have demonstrated that public procurement in the UK is in safe hands, even in the uncertain world in which we are now living. While it is undoubtedly tough out there, we believe it is also entirely appropriate that a service as valuable as this should be allowed a little time to reflect on its achievements, and to recognise the outstanding contribution it makes. If anything, the demands on the procurement profession are going to intensify in the coming years, but we believe it is more than capable of rising to the challenge.”
