BiP Solutions acquires Tenders Ireland service

BiP Solutions, a leading provider of electronic business information services for the public and private sectors, is delighted to have acquired the Tenders Ireland service from the Belfast-based Commercial Information Company Ltd (CIC).
Tenders Ireland has been run successfully by CIC since 1980, providing subscribers with details of government procurement contracts in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. However, as part of a strategic review of company activities, CIC have concluded that their core focus in future will be on the construction sector. Tenders Ireland subscribers will now benefit from BiP’s extensive experience in the Irish public procurement sector.
CIC Managing Director Pat McGrath said: “At CIC we intend to concentrate our efforts on providing comprehensive construction information in Ireland. This regrettably comes at a cost to our customers at Tenders Ireland who are not involved in construction. However, we did not want to abandon our non-construction subscribers and leave them without tender information so we sought an alternative provider in BiP Solutions.”

Tenders Ireland is BiP Solutions’ second acquisition in Ireland. In 2003, the company purchased Tendering Services Ireland, which was subsequently merged into BiP’s Contrax Ireland brand. Independent research commissioned in 2008 demonstrated that BiP published up to 125% more public sector contracts than the official www.e-tenders.gov.ie website.
