BiP Solutions celebrates excellence in practice

BiP Solutions has confirmed its status as a major player in the public procurement marketplace with the successful staging of its flagship event, National Public Procurement Practitioners Day (N3PD) 2008, encompassing the Government Opportunities (GO) magazine Excellence in Public Procurement Awards.
Hundreds of public procurement’s most influential personalities and representatives from the business community gathered at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London on 5 June for the event, which was in its fifth year of running.
Delegates heard addresses from high-profile keynote speakers Minister for the Third Sector Phil Hope and Deputy Director-General of the CBI John Cridland.
N3PD is unique in bringing the public procurement community together to
recognise and celebrate the achievements of those who help deliver smarter,
more efficient public services through effective procurement – so
benefiting the end user and taxpayer.
The 2008 GO Awards attracted a record number of entries across
categories focusing on collaborative procurement, sustainability, individual
and team excellence and the role of the private and third sectors in delivering
public services. This year’s winners and highly commended entries
were of an extremely high standard, and showcased the innovation and commitment
evident across the public procurement sector.
The accolade of the Lifetime Achievement Award – presented in recognition of a career devoted to procurement excellence - was received by Nick Bowd, Director of the Scottish Procurement Directorate.
