BiP’s Procurex event gains momentum
1 July 2008
BiP Solutions, one of Europe’s leading providers of procurement services, has confirmed high levels of interest in and support for its Procurex event, which takes place at the SECC in Glasgow on 29-30 October 2008.
Procurex is Scotland’s first dedicated private and public sector
procurement exhibition. The event comprises the Scottish National Public
Procurement Conference 2008 and the Government Opportunities (GO)
Scottish Business Summit 2008. Public sector organisations represented
include the Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise, Scotland
Excel, Procurement Scotland, Scottish Enterprise and NHS National Services
Scotland; while many of Scotland’s leading business associations,
including the CBI, the Scottish Council for Development and Industry, the
Federation of Small Businesses and the Glasgow and Edinburgh Chambers of
Commerce, are partners for the Business Summit.
Procurement professionals from the public and private sectors can attend
Procurex free of charge, and will hear from decision makers discussing
the latest developments in the sector, as well as having an invaluable
opportunity to develop new partnerships and contacts of their own. The
Procurex exhibition will allow all sizes of businesses, from SMEs through
to blue-chip organisations, to promote their services directly to buyers
from across the Scottish public sector, as well as to each other.
John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth, Scottish
Government and Brian Taylor, BBC Scotland’s Political Editor, are
confirmed keynote speakers for the Scottish National Public Procurement
Conference. The inaugural GO magazine Excellence in Public Procurement
Awards for Scotland will be presented on the evening of 29 October.
BiP Solutions is one of the UK’s leading providers of procurement-related
conferences, exhibitions and seminars. The company manages events for its
own customer base and also on behalf of procurement organisations and government
bodies. Delegate numbers at BiP events increased by over 30% in 2007, and
2008 has seen the introduction of BiP’s GO magazine branded
conferences, which have been well received.
Simon Burges, Sales and Marketing Director at BiP Solutions, said: “We believe that Procurex marks a major step forward in the procurement events market, and will be the perfect forum for bringing together the public and private sectors. BiP has an enviable track record in successful and well-targeted procurement events, and Procurex has already secured fantastic levels of support from government and business.”
