BiP Solutions shortlisted for Glasgow Business Awards
03 October 2007
Leading public procurement solutions provider BiP Solutions has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Performing Business category in the Glasgow Business Awards.
A highlight of the Glasgow business calendar, the Glasgow Business Awards are delivered by the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise Glasgow.
Award winners will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony in Glasgow on 24 October 2007.
The announcement of BiP as a finalist in these Awards follows on quickly from the company’s recent success in the National Business Awards for Scotland 2007, where it was named as the AXA Small to Medium-Sized Business of the Year.
The aim of the Scottish Enterprise Glasgow Award for Best Performing Business is to recognise businesses which have successfully grown their organisation, demonstrating key characteristics such as strong leadership, a clearly defined vision for achieving growth through strategic objectives and making a positive contribution to the local and Scottish economy.
BiP - which was established in 1984 to facilitate business between the public and private sectors - has made an extremely positive and valid contribution to the local Glasgow and wider national Scottish economy. BiP has grown and developed exponentially, with more than 160 staff at its Shawfield offices, providing employment opportunities and career development for both local people and those from beyond Glasgow.
The company is recognised as one of Europe’s leading providers of procurement solutions and market intelligence services, with thousands of public and private sector clients in the UK, Europe and beyond. It also provides events management, accreditation and consultancy services, and has used its knowledge and experience on behalf of a range of high-profile clients, including the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office, as well as a number of Scottish public sector organisations. International clients include the European Defence Agency, the United Arab Emirates Army and Kenya’s Ministry of Education.
Grahame Steed, Media Director at BiP Solutions, said: “BiP Solutions is delighted to have been announced as a finalist in these Awards, and particularly in a category that recognises exceptional business performance. The status of finalist demonstrates the quality of BiP’s people and its services, and is a great recognition of the achievements of the company and its entire staff.”
