Supplier accreditation is an area of increasing interest to public sector contracting authorities.
Ensuring that suppliers meet the required standards in their technical, legal and financial capacities helps to reduce risks when contracting.
BiP's Select Accredit service gives the reassurance that public sector buyers require. It provides accreditation to the same standard as the UK Government-backed Constructionline service, with which it shares a vetting service provider in Capita.
Select Accredit has been endorsed by the Society of Procurement Officers in Local Government. It supports a 'do it once' ethos, since suppliers are only asked to seek accreditation once, annually, by those public sector organisations which use the service. Suppliers registered with Select Accredit benefit from being seen by thousands of public sector buyers across the UK, so improving their chances of securing public sector business.
